alias

well, with the lost hiatus my life has been somewhat of a void...as we all know i watch a lot of tv.
so one day i was watching tnt primetime in the daytime and alias was on. the show was interesting.
i have known of its existence for a while, and it came more into my consciousness about a year ago after finding out that the guy who created lost created alias....
then this past wednesday tnt started showing it from the beginning, and what with neal and i now having dvr, i have been a follower.
then it just got too good, so i intended to rent season 1 via our netflix membership.
however patience not being my virtue i will just say that i came upon the episodes and so far am up to episode 18.....GREAT SHOW, i recommend it.
it is interesting and different and while sometimes ridiculous, you know, still, amazing. well i guess that actually 'good' is a better word.

my own man

as many of you will recall, neal has, on several occasions, asserted himself to be, and i quote "my own man"
this is funny because who says that?! and who believes that he is?

anyhow, kristi forwarded me something because it made her think of him as such, it is funny...

The husband had just finished reading a new book, 'YOU CAN BE THE MAN OF YOUR HOUSE'.

He stormed into the kitchen and walked directly up to his wife. Pointing a finger in her face, he said sternly, "From now on, YOU need to know that I AM the MAN of this house, and my word is law! You will prepare me a gourmet meal tonight, and when I'm finished eating my meal, you will serve me a sumptuous dessert afterward. Then, after dinner, you are going to draw me my bath so I can relax. You will wash my back and towel me dry and bring me my robe. Then you will massage my feet and hands. Then after that's done, guess who's going to dress me and comb my hair?"

His wife replied, "The friggin' funeral director would be my guess."

the super glue incident of 05

I have just had the worst super glue incident of my whole life....
Off hand I recall gluing my finger to my shirt, gluing my fingers together and other such things.

Today I went to glue something....and the super glue was old, and as I think we all know, glue will glue itself shut after a certain period of time. This had done so. So I tried to take the portion control tip off, thinking I could poke back through. But all I did was kink the tube. So I found pliers, and tried with them....tube more kinked.

So Neal said that I should just puncture the tube and we would throw it away. So I tried to puncture the tube, but it would not puncture, so I took scissors and made a very small cut in the tube.

Then the flood gates opened and a TON of superglue flew out everywhere. I ended up with 50% of my hand surface area covered with super glue.

I asked Neal for the trash can because it was still dripping, and he gave it to me. By this time the tube had become affixed to my left thumb. I tried to throw it in the trash, but it was not coming off, and it was hurting.

So I moved to the bathroom trash can in tow (since the tube was still dripping and was inextricably attached to my hand) and got my acetone based nail poilsh remover. I soaked a cotton pad and pressed it between my thumb and the tube, and was eventually able to pry the tube off and throw it away.

However I still had the other 9 fingers, lateral side of my left hand and my right wrist to deal with.

After 10 minutes of soaking my hands in acetone I could no longer stand the burning sensation so I rinsed off my hands which were still hard.

I guess the bright side is that if I wanted to commit a felony that was the time since I would have no apprecible fingerprints.

I ended up soaking my hands in water then peeling at the super glue, I would say that 75% of it has been removed, however my left pinky finger area still stings. I don't think that it will be gone any time soon...

I am glad that I am not currently on surgery, I don't know if they would let me in with my hands....

I AM SOMEWHAT VICTORIOUS!!

The human vascular system is bent and packed so extensively that is has an effective fractal dimension of three. The system of arteries has a dimension of 2.7 (Brigs 71). This means that the vascular system is as compact as a single line entwining itself into a perfect sphere yet retaining the surface area of the entire line.

2.7!!!!!

The dendritic tree is an obvious example of a fractal structure in neurobiology (Schierwagen 1986). The growth pattern of dendritic trees has been successfully described by a diffusion-limited aggregation model (Sander 1987), common to several fractal deposition processes. Differing fractal dimensions ranging from 2.1 through to 2.7 result from the diverse anatomies of different cell types.
